Responsibilities of the Minister for Education
The current First Minister and Education Minister affirmed their commitment to this progressive agreement in December 2018, updating it with additional education priorities and responsibilities, including further education, science, research and innovation.

Minister of State for School Standards, England
Rt Hon Nick Gibb was appointed Minister of State at the Department for Education (DfE) in 2014. His responsibilities include teachers and school leaders, curriculum, assessment and qualifications, school performance and admissions. He was elected Conservative MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton in 1997. Nick went to school in Maidstone, Leeds and Wakefield before going on to study law at Durham University. He was formerly a chartered accountant specialising in corporate taxation with KPMG. He served as Shadow Minister for Schools from 2005 to 2010 and as Minister of State for Schools from 2010 to 2012.

Mp for education
Ong Ye Kung is the Minister for Transport. He was elected Member of Parliament for Sembawang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in Sep 2015, and was re-elected in July 2020 in Sembawang GRC. He had held the positions of Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence. He is concurrently a board member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Chairman of the Chinese Development Assistance Council.
Prior to his Cabinet appointment, he held various positions in Government, including Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Workforce Development Agency, Principal Private Secretary to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Deputy Chief Negotiator for the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement. He was also the Deputy Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress and Director of Group Strategy at Keppel Corporation.
